Bruce Santee, from Florida, was not in the mood when he got pulled over at 2 in the morning this past February. He used inappropriate language and even threatened the officer. The officer remained calm but did call in the incident after the ticket was issued.
Later that day, Santee used his Facebook account to offer $100 to anyone who would kill the identified officer. An order was issued for Santee's immediate arrest and he was taken into custody the next day. Earlier that weekend he wasn't a crook, but one day later he was a wanted fugitive... now that's dumb!
But this is beyond dumb. This guy was irrational, idiotic, even vile. Why would anyone ever do such a thing? Police officers are here to protect us and to keep law and order! The officer can be lenient towards you, at his or her discretion, but not after vulgar and/or threatening remarks! Maybe he wasn't serious about the death threat... it doesn't matter! What Santee did was despicable!
Now for a local dumb crook - one on the lighter side. Lake Forest police responded to a one-car crash off of 41 in February. The driver was seen burying something. When the police got there, they just followed his footprints in the snow to his buried treasure... empty beer bottles! Busted!
