David Literal had just been released from jail Tuesday morning, March 12, 2013. It didn't take long for him to get back into trouble.
Just before noon he robbed a bank called The Bank of the West in Oregon City, Oregon. It just happened to be located one block away from none other than the local police station.
After the robbery, the police searched the area with the help of a police dog. What do you think they found? A jacket from the nearby county jail. And the ID number inside the jacket..? You guessed it - David Literal.
The police saw a cab in the area and decided to see if the robber might have called for one. Sure enough! Needless to say, his cab ride was short-lived and he was taken into custody. And guess what he had on him... A bag full of the bank's money!
David Literal was definitely a very dumb crook. Or maybe he just didn't want to miss a night in jail.
