Eldad Hagar, co-founder of "Hope for Paws", an animal rescue organization, gets calls from time to time for dogs that are in need of care. This time he did not know what to expect. The caller merely had told Eldad that there was a dog living in a trash heap for several months, outside of Los Angeles, and that the dog didn't look good.
When he finally found the dog, he was heartbroken at what he saw. The dog, having been abandoned and left for dead, could hardly move. Eldad fed the poor thing, who was later named Miley, some food. At first, Miley did not want to go, being in so much pain, but finally Eldad got her to stand and start walking.
Eldad drove Miley who had numerous infections and parasites, and was covered in mange, to get medical help right away. Miley was also so mal-nourished she would not have survived much longer. After weeks of constant care, Miley was looking - and doing - much better.
Then she met Frankie, a chihuahua rescued from a drain pipe, who had almost drowned. They became fast friends, and were always hanging out together. Now Miley had a reason to live - Frankie! And so she did! They are both expected to be nearly 100% recovered this January. Any life is worth saving!
