Rosie, a 12-week-old German Shepherd, was happily expecting a walk with her owner, John Costello, at Bolivar Pond in Canton, Massachusetts, this past June. John got out of his Dodge Neon briefly, while it was still running. That is when Rosie hopped into the front seat, hitting the gear shift into drive. Then when the car jolted slightly, Rosie fell onto the floor right on the gas pedal, then 30 feet into the pond. Rosie got scared and jumped into the back seat. John rushed into the water, grabbed her by the neck and yanked her out to safety. Rosie was fine but the car was a mess!
In Fort Lauderdale, Florida, a 4-year-old maltipoo named Susie and her owner Elaine Caralis were visiting a friend on the 16th floor of an apartment complex. Susie, while snooping around, found a small opening where a cover should have been. Susie fell 15 stories down the chute! The local fire rescue squad cut holes in it to try to rescue her. 3 hours later they found her. Fearing the worst, everyone was surprised to see Susie fine except for a few bruises!
