The United States has given Yemen roughly $500,000,000 in military aid over the past decade, to help us in the war against terrorism. Last year, President Obama boasted that Yemen was a successful example of his approach in combating terrorism. But in January, Yemen's government was toppled by Shiite Houthi rebels backed by Iran. And since then, the U.S. embassy in Yemen has closed, and most of the U.S. military advisers and forces have left.
In the heat of this news, it has been reported that the Pentagon is unable to account for the aid given to Yemen in the form of guns and ammunition, boats, vehicles, night-vision goggles, and other supplies, even helicopters! And guess who has all the war craft... the rebels! Not only did the taxpayers pay for this blunder, but now it has fallen into the wrong hands! But in the midst of the biggest deficit in America's history by far, what is another 1/2 billion or so?!
That is a small thing, compared to the $25 billion spent on helping Iraq's army which, shortly after we (the U.S. military) left, was easily defeated by the Islamic State fighters, known as ISIS. And all the billions of dollars worth of U.S. arms and military equipment went into the hands of the enemy! So we (the U.S.) have bountifully supplied and greatly strengthened ISIS and terrorism in general! Do I have to remind you who has paid for this debacle?! You and I as taxpayers have! How are we ever going to win the war against terrorism if we keep supplying the terrorists?!
