An anti-fossil-fuel group called Fossil Free Yale was all set to protest in Connecticut at Yale University on Valentine weekend. The organization was not happy about Yale's decision NOT to divest from fossil fuels last year. The group wanted  Yale to ONLY use "clean" fuel, such as solar power. A big part of their agenda was about global warming. Political speakers and activities were scheduled. They were hoping to get international attention concerning the negative effects of global warming.
Well, guess what. The weekend protest was canceled. Why? Due to "unfavorable weather conditions and other logistical issues." I'll explain. First, it was too cold and too snowy! Many people couldn't or wouldn't make it. Secondly, speaking of the "other logistical issues", it would look bad and be counterproductive to have a protest about global warming in the midst of frigid temperatures and a lot of snow. So, to save face, FFY canceled. The funny thing was that they had to cancel the week before, for the same reason!
Now, is there some truth to global warming? Of course, but do we have to spend millions of dollars on it? No way! Should we take care of our environment? Absolutely, but sensibly! I can't stand it when people litter or waste things! To me, it makes no sense. But I don't want any of my money spent on global warming causes! I remember that when I was at school, the big issue was about how the ice glaciers were going to get bigger and bigger, and possibly take over our land!  What a joke!
