![]() This month: 3 different incredible hero stories with one thing in common... the heroes are all cops! In Michigan, after a lady ran a red light, a police officer pulled her over and saw that she was choking... to the point of distress! She had been eating a breakfast sandwich, and now a piece was lodged in her throat. Officer Jason Gates went into action, pulling the unidentified woman out of the car, performing the Heimlich maneuver on her, and subsequently saving her life! She was so grateful, she cried like a baby and gave Jason a big hug! Gates, who didn't give her a ticket, said, "I was just doing my job." ![]() In New York, Officer Joseph Barca, who saved a 2-month-old baby girl in 1993 named Shammah Hamideh, attended her wedding as an honorary guest in August. Baby Shammah had been unable to breathe, and Officer Barca had saved her life by performing CPR and managing to unblock her airway. Ever since that time, Barca and Shammah have shared a special bond. "She is like one of my own," Barca said. Shammah said, "He's my hero. He is like a second father to me. I know he will always be there for me." ![]() State Trooper Joshua Kim was driving over a bridge in Maine when he saw a man looking like he might jump. Immediately, Officer Kim braked, got out, and ran over to the man, tackling him just seconds before he would have killed himself! Afterward the man apologized and was very thankful. Do you know what the name "Joshua" means?... "to save"!
