![]() Jesse-Cole Shaver, an 8-year-old boy from Oregon, was playing with his older sister, Jasmine, and their friends this summer, by the woods behind their apartment complex. Jesse's dog Hades, a pit bull, also came along. They were all having a good time until one of the kids stepped on a rotten log that contained a bees' nest. Within seconds they were all attacked by the angry bees. They ran as fast as they could, getting stung several times. But Jesse, being a little younger, couldn't keep up. The bees took advantage of that and kept stinging him. He screamed for help but all the other kids ran off in a panic. Jesse's sister Jasmine couldn't come back because she is deathly allergic to bees! That only left the hero of the day... Hades! Jesse's dog ran back to him as fast as she could and latched onto his jeans, dragging him up the hill. Then Hades stopped and let Jesse climb on her back and cling to her neck. Hades dragged him all the way back to his mother and safety! Jesse was stung at least 24 times! Jasmine was stung 5 times but two injections saved her life. They're both doing fine now, thanks in part to Hades, the pit bull hero! Hades was also stung but that was the least of her concerns. She was on a mission to save Jesse... and save him she did!
