![]() Earlier this fall, Jerome Simpson, 59, of Detroit heard a desperate-sounding woman screaming. He rushed to the front of the house where the screams were coming from and saw a panicked mother holding her 3 children, ages 1 - 4, out of a second-story window! Her house had caught on fire, and thick smoke was pouring out. She was screaming for Jerome to help her. Nobody else was around! He positioned himself under the window and told her to drop the children one at a time. And one by one he caught them perfectly and brought them to safety. Then Jerome told her to get down low and crawl down the stairs and get out of the house. She did! The mother was taken to a hospital where she is recovering. All her children were fine due to the actions of her 59-year-old hero, Jerome! And he in turn gave the credit to God... what a hero! ![]() An elderly woman from Southern Illinois was trying to cross railroad tracks on foot, this October. She saw the train in the distance and thought that she had plenty of time. But then she slipped and broke her arm and couldn't move. She yelled for help and Colton Essary, 16, who happened to be driving by at the time, heard the screams and pulled over. Colton sprinted as fast as he could to her side and moved her off the tracks seconds before the train sped past at 50 mph! Now Colton is a teenage hero!
