![]() Some Waukegan churches staged protests on December 14. Members of the Trinity African Methodist Episcopal Church, as well as other churches, marched in protest of police brutality. For the most part, it was a peaceful rally. There was a lot of frustration and bitterness in the air, however. Signs with "Black Lives Matter" were seen throughout the protest. Black lives do matter! They matter very much. And so do white and Hispanic lives. In fact, all lives matter! That includes the police as well... they matter too! As Dr. King said, "We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools.” ![]() In other news, watch out for those red-light cameras at certain intersections, like Lewis and Sunset, and Green Bay and Grand. It's not photos you're dealing with; it's a continual video feed! If you do not come to a "full and complete" stop, you will have to pay $100, no matter what! And that goes for the "right on red" too. I know because I got a ticket in the mail and showed up for court, but the judge didn't care about anything except that video. In fact, everybody with a red-light camera infraction was found guilty! It certainly seems unfair, since different standards apply, based on whether an intersection has cameras or not. But it is proving to be a big money-maker for the government! And come on... we all know they don't need more taxes!!
