Two of the buildings that were crushed were schools, where people, including children, were taking shelter because of the tornado warning. One of the schools was Briarwood Elementary School. Worried parents ran to the ruined site after the tornado passed. But where were the people? What about the children? Were they okay?
A rescue mission began digging through the debris to search for the missing children and adults. Firefighters and police rushed to the scene to take up the effort. Would they still be alive? It took hours to go through the rubble, but one by one they started finding people. To everyone's relief every missing person was accounted for. Some people had minor injuries, but what good news that all were still alive!
