The flood waters that have struck Colorado this September have been devastating. Fourteen counties have declared disasters and at least 10 people have died. The cost of the  total destruction is in the billions of dollars. Good news is hard to come by, but one such story is about a dog named Trooper, from California.

Trooper had suffered a severe head wound and was left for dead. An organization called Marley's Mutts Dog Rescue came to his aid. 35 staples had to be put in his head and he had a terrible bout with infection, but he lived. Now he had to have a good home.
A family near Denver was found, but the flooding held back the meeting  for  a week.  Both the family and the dog have been through a lot. Now, together at last, they are comforting each other. The family loves their new pet, and Trooper loves them back!
