![]() When you are a child, it is always good to show respect to adults and it is also good to be quiet. But sometimes it is good to speak up! That is what one kindergartner from Upstate New York should have done this past March. First, the 5-year-old girl got on the wrong bus which was driven by a substitute driver. That bus took her to a different school which was expecting a new first grader. The girl was asked if she was the new student and, being confused, said she was. The girl, now a little scared as well, answered to the wrong name all day long. The mistake wasn't discovered until the girl's mother called the school to report that her daughter never got off the bus that afternoon. That is when the school realized the mix-up and reunited the missing girl with her mother. Anytime you are confused or unsure about something, you need to tell somebody. Anytime somebody treats or touches you in a wrong way, you need to tell a teacher that you trust or your mom, dad, or grandparent. Do not be afraid; telling someone is what they would want you to do.
