I had a lot of people tell me in September and October that we're going to have a worse winter than last year. I responded with disbelief, unwilling to accept that notion! Then along came November. We haven't had a cold spell like that around here - for a November - in over 100 years! Yikes! Is it true?! Will this winter be worse than last winter?! Come on! Last winter was bad enough, being so cold and full of snow. Can we just pick one - either cold or snow? Please not both! Definitely not 2 years in a row!
Buffalo got slammed with 6 feet of snow last month. In November! Governor Cuomo declared a state of emergency in western NY. The National Guard was sent to help clear the snow. Buffalo itself had to be closed down for a day. Even the Thruway (90) had to be closed. Hey, I know, maybe we could make a deal with New York: We'll take the cold and they can have the snow. I mean, I don't want the cold either, but I definitely don't want both! Which is worse... cold or snow? So, let's make a deal!
