![]() PACT (People and Cats Together) is a nonprofit rescue organization based near Los Angeles, California. They have been rescuing cats and kittens for over 30 years, but this time was different. They rescued a batch of aban-doned kittens this past summer from a yard which has been used as a dumping ground for unwanted kittens. Why someone would do that, I do not know! Just make a phone call. There are many organizations nationwide that will take unwanted pets. Anyway, back to the story. One of those kittens, named Thumper, could not walk due to a neurological disease. He got around by dragging himself from place to place. Thumper would have surely died if it wasn't for PACT, which was determined to find a way for him to walk. But how? ![]() A special walker was custom-made for him out of PVC pipes and wheels with a cat harness. It worked! At first Thumper walked slowly, but soon he learned to run using his walker. After several weeks, with his confidence and muscles building, he started to take his first steps without the walker. Thumper loved it. He started playing and doing things he could never do before. Soon he was up and running like the other cats... well, with a little swagger!
