Beware of Christmas Scams!

12/1/2014

Christmas brings friends and family together and brings a lot of gift giving. Christmas also brings out a lot of shoplifters and other scammers! Make sure your wallets and purses are hidden and/or secure. One trick for women is to carry a "dummy" purse. A dummy purse is an inexpensive purse that has nothing valuable in it, such as: tissue, pen, paper, etc. If taken, it is a minimal loss. Carry anything of value - cash, cards, ID, phone, etc., inside your coat or a deep pocket.
Watch out for online scammers. Fake online stores open up, especially after "hot" items run out in the stores. These scams offer incredible deals on "must have" items. They will gladly take down your credit card info and take your money with no intention of giving you anything! Furthermore, if they can take more from your credit card, they will. Ouch! Choose only online sites that you know are credible.
Have a Merry Christmas everyone, except you shoplifters and scammers! To you I say, "Bah Humbug!"
