Jennifer went back later in May when no one was there and found the locks changed. Peeking through the window, she saw lots of her valuables were missing. She called the police again but they said that there was nothing they could do and that she should take the matter to court. City officials confirmed that the deed transfer was fraudulent and updated it with Jennifer's name on it on June 4. Now Jennifer had to wait for the court! After more delays, Beatty was ordered to vacate in August. Finally! Not so fast. Because Beatty claimed to have "health problems" the judge said he could stay. What?! How is that justice? I can tell you... it's not!!
Now Jennifer had to wait until October to hear from the court. Beatty told some more lies and the judge went along with it. And what was the ruling? Another court date on November 7! So this thief, who stole someone else's house, could legally stay there? Yep! In other words, he can legally do something illegal! It doesn't make any sense! And get this (if it wasn't crazy already), on November 7, Beatty asked the judge if he could stay there for the rest of the year! Finally the judge said no. Beatty had to be out by November 17.
And what about tenants who take advantage of landlords. These tenants pay rent for one month just to get in and have no intention of paying anymore. They're like leaches; you can't get them out for months because the faulty justice system bends over backwards to protect the tenants... to the point of insanity! Are there any consequences for their arrogant, selfish behavior? NO! They will just try to do it again, and again, and again! And why not? The court system seems to encourage them. I have personally worked with a couple of landlords and have seen firsthand how the tenants take advantage of the liberal laws and court rulings. Why punish the majority of landlords for the sake of a few bad ones? Well, I say it's wrong! Terribly wrong!!
